Terms of Use
In short: the Books Health Check is a free first look at your books. It is not accounting, tax or legal advice, and using it does not make you a ClearBooks client. Review the results with a professional before acting on them.
1. Agreement
These terms apply to clearbooksfirm.com and the Books Health Check (together, the "Service"), provided by ClearBooks Firm LLC ("ClearBooks", "we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
2. What the Service is
The Books Health Check reviews transactions you provide, by uploading a file or by connecting QuickBooks Online, and produces an automated score and a list of possible issues such as uncategorized, duplicate, personal-looking or unreconciled items.
3. Not professional advice
The Service provides general information only. Its results are produced by automated checks, can be incomplete or wrong, and depend on the data you provide. They are not accounting, bookkeeping, tax, legal or financial advice. Do not rely on them to file taxes or make financial decisions without review by a qualified professional.
4. No client relationship
Using the Service, submitting a form or booking a call does not create a client relationship with ClearBooks. A client relationship begins only when you and ClearBooks sign a separate engagement agreement.
5. Your responsibilities
- Provide only data for a business you own or are authorized to act for.
- Give accurate contact details.
- Do not misuse the Service, attempt to disrupt it, or access it by automated means.
6. Connecting QuickBooks Online
If you connect QuickBooks Online, you authorize ClearBooks to read the data described in our Privacy Policy one time to produce your report. We do not change your books. Your use of QuickBooks is governed by your own agreement with Intuit.
QuickBooks is a registered trademark of Intuit Inc. ClearBooks Firm LLC is an independent firm and is not owned or operated by Intuit.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
8. Our content
The site, the Service and their content belong to ClearBooks Firm LLC. You may use them for your own business purposes. You may not copy, resell or republish them without our written permission.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on services run by others, including Intuit, Netlify and Koalendar. We are not responsible for those services or their availability.
10. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, ClearBooks Firm LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. The Service is free, and our total liability for any claim relating to it will not exceed one hundred US dollars.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Charlotte County, Florida.
13. Changes
We may update the Service or these terms. The current version will always be posted here with its effective date.
